The day

Field notes

We left Shivajinagar before sunrise, exited at Palaspe Phata, and wound through Dehuroad and Kolvan until the lake opened up. Tents by the water, kayaks in the afternoon, and a bonfire that lasted longer than anyone planned. Amour Café's terrace at sunset is the photograph everyone takes home.

Weather

Cool lake breeze year round; monsoon brings mist over the water and green hills.

Highlights

  • Lakeside camping with bonfire
  • Amour Café terrace at sunset
